A Chartered accountant by qualification,28 years old Rohan Hegde,Director of Tunga group believes in always seeing the larger
picture.Under his leadership, the Tunga group recently added Tunga Regency,a four star Deluxe hotel in Navi mumbai to the list of his Hotels. Here he shares his success secret.
TAKE CARE OF THE PEOPLE.
You take of your people, and they will take care of the guests. This is what my father and i have always practiced in the organisation. If your staff is happy,so will the customer be also get happy by the good service provided by your staff. In any profession and in any industry, being a master management of people is important in the Hospitality industry. You may have talent but if you cannot manage people, you will not go far.
GIVE YOUR BEST.
Try to do best in whatever you do whether it is small, midium,or big. That,s what people remember you for.Give your 100%.Eventually you will strike gold.
START EARLY.
we are given 24 hours a day to what we have to do. so,start early so that you can accomplish the most during that time.
KEEP WALKING.
When things dont turn out the way you want them to,there is no point in getting stuck on them.Keep moving ahead.
PUT IT ON PAPER.
What happened, what went wrong, what can be done differently and so on..... you need to put down the results of why it didn,t work.It helps bring things in perspective.Use pen and a paper when you sit to plan something.
CONCENTRATE ON GOOD.
Whenever you meet someone try to copy his good qualities rather than his bad and negative qualities.
MAKE TIME FOR YOUR BODY.
Take care of your body for an hour and your body will take care of you the next 23 hours.Do yoga and exercise for aleast 30-40 minitues a Day, it will keep your body fit and healthy.

STEPS TO CUT DOWN COSTS.

(1)Avoid visits to places(like Malls) that make you buy more than what you want.
(2)Replace a creditcard with a debitcard,a creditcard induces you to buy/spend more than what you can afford.A debit card serves the same purpose with as much money you have to spend.
(3)Buy a Car for utility, not prestige. Most of us buy a Car on a finance scheme.Buying a bigger Car leads to a continuous outflow of higher EMI,huge additional interest Outflow, not to forget the regular
higher outflowtowards Fuel and Maintenance costs.
(4)Don,t buy unnecessary/expensive Car accessories because there is no immediate cash outflows from your hands. We tend to forget interest outflows on the loan.
(5)Use company-provided vihicles for office or create a car pool.
(6)Never visit a sale unless you are sure you need those Goods and the sale is Genuine.
(7)Handle housing loan payouts with care.Buying a house is necessary.Buying one bigger than you need means two important Outflows, larger EMIs,losing in interest outflow and regular high cost incurrence towards maintainance and taxes.
(8)Juggle various loan options.A home loan is cheaper and provides additional tax benifits than car loan.Between credit card loans and
personal loans, personal loans are generally cheaper.
(9)Use your mobile phones with care.Try to choose a wise plan on your Network.Limit your unnecessary outgoing calls or call from the near by Landline.
(10)Prevent expensive gadgets, look at utility rather than a show.
This may look tough, but there it is.

CHOOSE THE RIGHT CA.

There are CAs who specialise in individual taxation,NRIs,service tax, procedural matters, others blend taxation and investment advice and so on.If you are a entrepreneur or a small businessman, you need a
CA with a small business focus.
Choose an accountant early in your career.Over time,he will understand your needs and advice you well.Since you will reveal vital
information about your income,it makes sense to stay with the same accountant.
A CA prepares your tax returns, filesthem, pays your taxes and maintains all records.Choose one who also provides advisory services
such as how to save taxes and how to make the best investments,as well.
Negociate fees in advance.Accountants charge seperate fees for filing
returns, scrutiny of accounts books and if he,s available at your beck and call.Clarify all applicable fees in advance.Ensure records are maintained regularly.Records may be required in future.Do keep photocopies of all documents, but your CA must also maintain a seperate set.
If your stakes are high,a small slip by your accountant can lead you in trouble.Does your accountant have a professional liabitity insurance cover? These policies are now available in india. Finally, feel free your CA to be the following questions.
ASK THESE QUESTIONS

*How many clients do you have?
* what is your typical client base-individual,businesspersons?
*How much experience do you have with my kind of situation or business.
*Will you do my tax returns or does someone handle it?
*What educational update programmes have you taken in the last six months?
*What other services does the firm offer?
*Can you give me a few references?

RESPECT YOUR ENEMIES.

Fact is enemies are not created intentionally. But the reality is that they will exist dispite us not wanting them-whether in battle or business. But while we may not have a choice with our enimies,we can surely choose how to deal with them.It is like playing any sport, you need to have a strategy in place to win the game with the
competitor.
NEVER EVER TAKE THEM FOR GRANTED.
The competitor is as intelligent as you are, if not more.So do not take him for granted.Be alert and very careful about his moves. You never know when he may attack. On the other hand you must not attack him-certainly never if you your thinking is that he will definitely loose.
STUDY HIM TOTALLY.
One of the reasons for the success story of the Australian cricket team is they spend a lot of time closely studying the players of opposite teams. They watch video clippings, find weaknessess
and identify strengths.
PRACTICE,PRACTICE AND MORE PRACTICE.
Just because i have a good weapon in hand does mean i will win the war.I should be able to use it well off the field, before i use it in actual war.The best warriors practice for hours together daily, even during the peace times.
BE COOL.
Being prepared for war does mean you should go to fight.War should always be the last option as its destructive and expensive. Therefore even if your compititor tries to provoke you,be cool-headed.Never hate your enemy as it kills your logical thinking.Even in the political field, there are peace talks, before the war.So give room in your life too.But if the war does take place finally,do not hesitate to fight it to the last.

STOP BEING A SPENDTHRIFT.

Mr Ramesh sharma draws a fat salary, takes annual bonuses and enjoys fabulous perks. He certainly lives it up,his life moving at a
breakneck speed and career on a fast track.Anyone would envy him.Apart from few baubles and his car he has no much to show as assets. He is always short of cash and has a habit of borrowing from his friends. Are you like Mr Ramesh?Who borrows from his friends who are earning far less than him.
[1]STASH AWAY SOME CASH EVERY MONTH IN A WELL DESIGNED PLAN.
You could invest in a systematic plan of a mutual fund or a bank recurring deposit plan. The point is to invest in any scheme where a part of your salary can be automatically deducted and invested on your behalf. You could invest around 10% of your monthly take away like this.Although on a monthly basis this may seem like a small amount, but over a period of time the total amount thus squirreled away could surprise you.
[2]BUY ASSESTS AND NOT LIABILITIES.
Sometimes our impulsive buys leave our wallets lighter month after month. It,s better to buy a laptop rather than a car, which will enhance your productivity and thereby your income.Everytime you buy something big, check whether it,s an asset or a liability.
[3]GIVE YOURSELF SMALLER REWARDS.
We like to spend on gifts for friends, families, and of course
our own selves. You can get the same amount of pleasure by buying smaller, relatively inexpensive but thoughtful gifts, rather than expensive french perfume. An inexpensive book can also be an excellent and useful gift to someone you like or love.
[4]WITHDRAW SMALLER SUMS FROM BANK AT REGULAR INTERVALS.
Instead of withdrawing all you need for your monthly expenses, withdraw smaller amounts at a time.A few extra trips to the ATM/Bank will automatically make you aware of the dwindling balance in your account which will keep your expenses in check.
[5]LEAVE YOUR CRIDITCARD HOME.
Carry just enough cash to cover your basic grocery and necessities bill when you go shopping. You will notice that more than 90% of the time when you have resisted the impulse, and you have had time to think the purchase through rationally, you wont go back to the shop.
[6]KEEP THE BIG PICTURE IN MIND.
When you pinch pennies it,s natural to feel a bit deprived.Think of the joy and feeling of security it shall provide you with.If the motive is fat bank balance think of the number which shall make you feel really rich and prosperous.
KEEPING IN MIND THE BIG PICTURE KEEPS THINGS IN FOCUS.

PAIN PAIN GO........AWAY?

We spend a considerable amount of time in a day in the sitting position. We sit in front of a computer, while writing reports,in the mumbai trains[if we are lucky],at the doctors clinic or a clients office,in a restaurant or even unwinding on the counch at home. And when we do that we hardly pay attention to the way we sit. However it is the sitting posture that leads to bachaches, the most common problem amoungst the working crowd.
STAND UP
Even though sitting is inescapable for most people, you should limit the time you spend on sitting as much as possible.Try standing for few minutes, when you stand your body weight is distributed amongst your muscle and joints.
CHAIR CARE.
Make sure that your chair is good for you since you spend large part of your day on it.Adjustable chairs and chairs with lumbar support, maintain the natural curvature of the spine,as well as chairs with the armrests, have proven lower back and spinal disorders.
KNEES APART.
Avoid keeping your knees close together while sitting, keeping your knees apart prevents your shoulders from dropping forward. This will avoid pain in your back.
WATCH YOUR NECK.
Position your desk and chair in such a way that your forearms can rest on your desk and your elbows at a 90 degree angle, close to your sides. This will minimise the stress in your back and neck muscles.
Don,t let your sitting posture disrupt your work schedule, your exercise schedule,as well as your life.Take small precautions into consideration before these problems become,a quite literally,a pain in your behind.
